ARTIFEXStudio

3D printing3D printing for businesses: the part you need, with no moulds and no minimums.

Artifex 3D prints prototypes, jigs, fixtures, spare parts and small runs for companies and workshops, from your files or designing the part from scratch. No moulds to pay for and no minimum order: you get working parts in engineering polymers suited to real use, with design, printing and finishing in one place.

01

What gets printed

  • Prototypes, both visual and functional
  • Jigs, fixtures and tooling for assembly, inspection and production
  • Brackets, guards and custom organisers
  • Spare parts that are discontinued or hard to find
  • Small runs and end-use parts
  • Models and samples for trade fairs and presentations

02

The technology

  • Filament 3D printing (FDM) with a build volume up to 330 × 320 × 325 mm; larger parts are made in assembled sections
  • Up to 7 materials or colours in the same part, for example rigid and soft sections together
  • Nozzle up to 350 °C and heated chamber, so carbon-fibre-filled engineering polymers can be printed too
  • Finishing: sanding, vapour smoothing, threaded inserts, magnets, painting on request

03

When 3D printing pays off, and when it doesn't

It pays off for prototypes, one-offs, small and medium runs, complex geometries and personalised parts. For tens of thousands of simple parts, injection moulding is usually cheaper, and I'll tell you so. All the details in the guide 3D printing vs injection moulding.

Working with your company

We start with a site visit, free within a reasonable distance of Savigliano, or a video call. I can work from your CAD files (STEP, STL) or measure and redraw the part. The material is chosen according to the loads, temperatures, humidity and chemicals it will face: the materials guide explains the differences.

A real project

Technical tray for Fariano Genetics

A 500-well tray for incubating trout eggs, in a vapour-smoothed technical material: a hygienic, washable surface designed for daily use on a fish farm.

FAQ

Do you accept existing files?

Yes, STEP and STL. If a file isn't suitable for printing, I fix it.

What is the maximum size?

330 × 320 × 325 mm in a single piece. Beyond that, the part is split into sections that are joined together.

How accurate is a printed part?

In the order of a few tenths of a millimetre, and the design allows for it: critical fits and holes are sized and tested on the prototype.

Do you make runs of hundreds or thousands of parts?

Yes, as long as it beats other processes: see series production by 3D printing. When it no longer does, I'll tell you.

How is it different from CNC milling?

3D printing adds material and allows complex internal shapes; CNC removes material from a solid block, such as solid wood or aluminium. Often the same project uses both.
