I'm the founder of Artifex and the person who handles every project, from the first message to delivery. I design and make objects, components and visual communication in Savigliano, Piedmont, for companies, hotels and professional firms in Italy and abroad.

Where Artifex comes from

I've always taken things apart to see how they work: as a child I opened kitchen timers to get at their gears, then came Tesla coils, electronics and, in 2021, my first 3D printer. I haven't stopped designing and building since. The laser arrived in 2022, and Artifex was born in the summer of 2024.

That same year I worked at an industrial metal laser-cutting company, between SolidWorks design, CNC lathes and press brakes: that's where I learned how much it matters to design with production in mind.

How I work

I handle every project myself, from idea to delivery: the person who designs it is the person who makes it.
When it helps, I prefer to see things in person.
I reply at weekends too, and that's often when projects move fastest: it's what I enjoy doing.
If something doesn't pay off, I'll say so, even if it means pointing you to someone else.
I care about details even where they don't show: it's monozukuri, the Japanese art of making things with pride, skill and dedication.

Milestones

2021 · My first 3D printer.
2022 · Laser cutting and engraving.
2024 · Artifex is born. Experience at an industrial metalworking company.
2025 · Book of Honour for the City of Savigliano, graphics for Hôtel Pashmina, Spartibuste Metrico for Studio Arrò Architetti.
2026 · Sculptures for Chalet Cervino, CGM Impianti's stand at an international fair, a new CNC mill, 400 gifts for three properties in Val Thorens.

Languages and tools

I work in Italian and in English, with C1 certification; for French and other languages I use professional translation tools. Throughout the process I use professional software: Fusion 360 and SolidWorks for design, Blender for renders, Metashape and Polycam for 3D scanning, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and After Effects for graphics, DaVinci Resolve and Capture One for video and photography. I give courses and talks on 3D printing and keep learning, including about artificial intelligence.

Outside the workshop

I've played classical guitar for over ten years and lead a jazz fusion band. I love the mountains, motorbikes and travelling: the money I earn mostly goes on experiences and meeting people.
