Unobtainable Opel GT part for Panero Autoriparazioni
The odometer gear of a classic Opel GT was no longer available. It was rebuilt from the original part and reproduced by 3D printing: the car got a working odometer back.
In most cases, yes: a broken, worn or discontinued part can be rebuilt. I start from the original, even if it is in pieces, measure it, redraw it in 3D and reproduce it in the right material for its job: 3D printed, machined from solid aluminium, brass or engineering plastic, or made in steel through partners. You get your machine running again instead of chasing a spare part that no longer exists.

Plastic, metal and wooden components, the ones that break first and the manufacturer no longer sells.
Plastics are 3D printed or machined from solid; aluminium, brass, wood and engineering plastics with CNC milling; steel and heavy work through selected partners. For classic cars and motorbikes, farm and garden machinery, household appliances, workshop machines and tools, furniture and everyday objects.

A spare part doesn't just need the right shape: it has to hold up where it works. For a part in the sun or near an engine, engineering plastics that resist heat and UV; for a gear, a carbon-fibre-filled nylon or a metal; for a seal or bumper, a flexible material.
If a part has to be steel, I have it made by specialist partners: you still get it from Artifex, with one point of contact. More in the materials guide and the broken part guide.

They depend on the part: how hard it is to measure and redraw, which material it needs, how many copies you want. The quote is free and you get it before any work starts. A simple gear can be ready within 48 hours, when the workload allows; urgent jobs can be arranged.

FAQ
Usually yes, if the fragments are there or there is a twin part to take measurements from. A symmetrical part, like the one on the other side, also helps rebuild the missing section.
No. Photos and measurements are enough for a first assessment, even over the phone. After that, the part can be posted.
It depends on the material and where the part works. With engineering plastics or metal the new part is often stronger than the original, partly because the point that broke can be reinforced. If that's not possible, I'll tell you upfront.
Yes. Aluminium and brass I machine myself on the CNC; steel, metal laser cutting, fabrication and metal 3D printing go through specialist partners.
Yes, across Italy, Europe and worldwide.
